You don’t know, I don’t know, nobody knows!
Have you ever noticed how many people decide they want to make money online? It’s crazy . . . and you certainly can’t blame them given all the ads, forum boasting, and social media posts claiming everyday ordinary people are making a killing online with this money making system or that guru’s mentoring, or some “push button” software that does all the work for you!
I read somewhere . . .
So and so told me . . .
I heard that . . .
Everybody says to . . .
What does the majority say about . . .
____________ (insert any guru’s name) told me to . . .
Conjecture. Yup, that’s all it is.
Someone’s opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof.
When you think about it, that’s what keeps most Internet marketing forums and membership sites going.
Internet marketer’s love to hang their hats on conjecture. Why? It’s the easy way out. It’s the dream of fast and effortless riches and the thought of never having to put up with a cranky boss or another long day slaving for an employer.
You can go “all in” on a statement (you heard) without having to go to the effort of verifying or proving anything!
But here’s rub . . .
Internet marketing is serious business (or should be). It’s people’s livelihood. It supports families. It pays the monthly bills and feeds little children.
And people’s opinions are very often wrong. Everyone loves his opinion to the point that he begins believing it is fact and truth even though it has never been tested or proven.
I’ve done it. You’ve done it. We’ve all done it. We’ve put money, time, and much effort into something based solely on an opinion. And it doesn’t even have to be our own original idea!
Half the questions you see in the online money making forums could be answered by their creator with a little testing. Wouldn’t it be better to know for sure?
But,of course, testing takes some work! It takes your time and a little effort. It’s really not difficult to learn how to track and test something – anyone can do it. And what if our idea turns out to be wrong? No one likes to be proven wrong . . . even if we prove our own selves wrong in private.
But it’s certainly easier to just ask your question and then hang your entire business on the conjecture of some random answer on a public forum by some stranger that has probably never made any real money online in his business.
Is it any wonder so many of us struggle to make money online?
To your online business success, really,
